Garage door FAQ

Pricing, timing, springs, openers and what to do while you wait.

How fast can you get to Alabama?

Most Alabama calls booked before mid-afternoon get a same-day slot, and anything urgent, a door stuck open or a car trapped inside, moves to the front of the list. The phone line is answered 24 hours.

How much does garage door repair cost in Alabama?

Common repairs run roughly $120 to $380. Spring replacement usually falls in the $180 to $420 range for a matched pair. You get a flat number before any work starts, not an estimate that grows.

Can you replace just one broken spring?

We can, but we do not recommend it. Springs wear at the same rate, so if one has gone the other is close behind. Replacing the pair costs less than paying for a second call-out in a few months.

My door will not close and just reverses. What is wrong?

Nine times out of ten it is the safety sensors near the floor: knocked out of alignment, dirty lenses or a loose wire. It can also be the down-force setting or something in the track. Both are quick fixes.

Do you work on commercial doors in Alabama?

Yes. Rolling steel shutters, sectional overhead doors, high-cycle spring systems and jackshaft openers for shops, warehouses and fleet yards, including after-hours visits so you do not lose trading time.

Is it worth repairing an old door or should I replace it?

If the panels are sound, repair is almost always the better value. Once you have rust through the bottom section, cracked stiles or multiple dented panels, replacement usually costs less over five years.

Do you install openers you did not supply?

Yes. If you have bought an opener already we will fit it, program the remotes and keypad, set the travel limits and force settings, and test the safety reverse before we leave.

What brands of garage doors and openers do you work on?

All the common ones: Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Overhead Door and Raynor doors, plus LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman and Linear openers.

Do you charge extra at night or on weekends?

After-hours calls carry a call-out premium, and we tell you the exact number on the phone before we get in the truck. Nothing is added later.

How long does a new garage door installation take?

A standard single or double door swap is usually a one-day job: old door and hardware out, new track, springs and sections in, opener reconnected, then balance and safety testing.

Can you fix a garage door that came off the track?

Yes, and please stop using the opener until we do. Running a door that has jumped the track bends sections and can burn out the opener. Re-tracking is usually a same-day repair.

Do you offer maintenance visits?

We do a 21-point tune-up: balance test, spring cycle check, roller and hinge inspection, track alignment, lubrication, sensor alignment and force adjustment. It is the cheapest way to avoid a call-out.
